We believe that having loved ones nearby lifts spirits, brightens moods and improves healing. However, there are a few things to consider when coming by to say hello.

Visiting Policy Updated April 12, 2022

At Heartland Regional Medical Center, we recognize the important role loved ones play in the healing process, and we are committed to providing a safe and healing environment. Beginning on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in response to the steady decline of COVID-19 in the community, Heartland Regional Medical Center’s Visitor Policy is as follows:

COVID-19 Patients

  • No visitors will be allowed for patients suspected of, or being ruled out for, COVID-19.*


  • In accordance with CDC recommendations, every person entering the facility, regardless of vaccination status, will continue to undergo temperature and illness screenings and will be required to wear masks, observe social distancing requirements and perform good hand hygeine.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Visiting Hours

  • No visitors will be allowed for ICU patients suspected of, or being ruled out for, COVID-19.
  • Visitors to ICU patients NOT suspected of COVID-19:
    • One visitor/support person is allowed at one time.
    • Visitors under the age of 16 will not be allowed.*
  • Children under the age of 16 will not be allowed in the ICU Waiting room.*
  • ICU Visitor hours are from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm daily.*

Inpatients, Emergency Department, Surgery Department

  • Visitors will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 and must pass the screening to visit a patient.
  • No more than two visitors per patient at one time in most care units.
  • Visitors must wear face coverings, practice good hand hygiene and social distancing at all times.
  • Visitors under the age of 16 will not be allowed.*
  • Children under the age of 16 will not be allowed in Third Floor Waiting Areas.*
  • General Visiting Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily.*


  • CDC Social Distancing requirements may require Visitors to take their food or drink to-go.

Heartland Regional Medical Center will continue to adhere to infection control practices and social distancing when applicable for patient and healthcare worker safety and to promote wellness in our facility. We understand these rules can feel burdensome and inconvenient.

Our top priority is keeping our patients, visitors and employees safe. We appreciate your compliance with these guidelines, and we look forward to welcoming you back into our building.
